Audio Encoding: WAV to MP3 in Depth
4/16/2003, by poopeyhed2
Views: 19153
What is an MP3 one would ask? The correct answer is a type of compression, MPEG 1 Layer 3, hence MP3, for audio. Today, MP3’s are wide spread through Peer-to-Peer (P2P) services like Napster, Kazaa, Gnutella servers, and more. Still, not all MP3’s are from P2P services, some may find MP3’s are easier than compact discs or even vinyl records, by converting them into MP3’s.

Video Processing: Anime
4/14/2003, by Robert Richmond
Views: 27313
Animated video can be the most problematic type of multimedia to process, especially when converting from analog source material. The traditional techniques utilized for live video processing rarely work for anime. At the upper ranges of the quality spectrum, animated content produces extreme amounts of motion, color variation, and fine detail. Even more simplistic form like cartoons warp the rules governing common sense video processing. Anime can require tedious analysis to produce a quality encoding project, even for the most experienced multimedia experts.

Keep Your Web Site Simple

First published here: http://www.webpronews.com/archives/012601.html Keeping your web site simple doesn't necessarily mean that you are shortchanging your visitors. Things like simple navigation and simple graphics actually allow more visitors to view your web pages and help to keep them there because the pages load faster. Simple navigation can consist of plain old text hyperlinks, or some very small graphic buttons arranged in some easy-to-follow way. Be consistent with the way you have people navigate your site. Use the same format for all of your pages when possible. Most people like to be able to figure out the web site's navigation system in short order. If it takes too long for them to figure out how it works, they will look for an easier web site to navigate. With the millions of sites available for them to go to, you need to make yours appealing to the web surfer that drops in for a look.

DVD Backups Simplified
3/15/2003, by Robert Richmond
Views: 19346
Ever notice how many DVD backup guides are on the Internet these days? A Google search will return hundreds of hits, but nearly all have an important flaw in common: the need for multiple applications and massives list of complex steps or half-working scripts. Sure, one could take the time to learn about ripping, audio to video demuxing, and file stream conversion, but who really has the want or desire to set in front of a computer for countless hours just to back up a single DVD movie?
