Foosh Energy Mints + Buzz Bites Review

For the people that know me well, it shouldn't be a big surprise that I am a big fan of caffeine. When a friend of mine read my Umph tablet review, he recommended a new product to me. He never tried the products we are reviewing today, but was really curious if they were worth a few dollars. Today I will be taking a look at Foosh Energy Mints and Foosh Buzz Bite Chocolate Energy Chews.

First, let me give you a brief background on the background of the Foosh products. Foosh is manufactured by Vroom Foods and was first dreamt up by Jason Kensey while he was attending graduate school. To keep the story short and sweet, he spent thousands of dollars to make his neighborhood smell like mints, just so he could make the Foosh Energy Mints.

Both products are said to have 25% more caffeine than a can of Red Bull. The Foosh Energy mints also contain taurine, five B vitamins, and ginsing, along with a powerful dose of caffeine.

Foosh Energy Mints

One of the things that I really liked is that the Foosh Energy Mints are sugar-free and actually taste like regular peppermint mints. Surprisingly, there wasn't much of an aftertaste with the mints, which was something that some people didn't like. Depending on your tolerance, the mints will probably take a few minutes before they fully kick-in.

Buzz Bites

I enjoyed the Foosh Energy Mints much more than the Buzz Bites. The chocolate tastes a bit odd so it takes a little while to get used to the after taste of the chocolate. Nevertheless, I found that I devoured a tin within a few days of saying how odd the aftertaste was. Although, the people that are trying to keep calories at a minimum won't be pleased to hear that each bite has 25 calories, whereas a Penguin Caffeinated Chocolate Mint only has 2 calories per mint.

Potency

Something that is worth mentioning is that other caffeine mints aren't near as strong as Vroom products. Here is a chart that describes what one mint or chew equals:

Q & A Session

When we reviewed the Umph caffeine tablets on TechIMO earlier, a lot of people ended up sending off for free samples. This proved to be very successful for Umph. Does Vroom Foods send out samples to interested parties?

No we don’t send out free samples. However, a consumer can buy just ONE tin of either product if they want. There is a flat rate shipping charge of just $1.99 anywhere in the US. So if someone buys just one tin of the mints to try, the total delivered price is $5.98 - not bad for 15 Red Bulls worth of "energy" (caffeine). 2/3rds of my web orders are repeat and typically they are buying a tray at a time.

How is the process to distribute Foosh mints nationwide going?

Time is my scarcest resource. The "techie" crowd has discovered the products first and are very loyal consumers. Physical distribution is growing daily, but there are a half dozen e-commerce sites selling the products mostly to the "techie" crowd.

Is there anything that we, the consumers, can do to help you?

Spread the word. The product is really unique and very functional. Sure there are other "caffeinated" mints out there, but you need to eat 14 to 45 of them to equal the caffeine content of just one Foosh Energy Mint or Buzz Bite Chocolate Energy Chew, plus you get the five B vitamins, ginseng and taurine with my products and not the others.

Do you have any other products that are currently in the works?

We are always working on new flavors for both lines. Packing as much caffeine as we did in to a little confection is no easy task, which is why development is so difficult. I spent nearly four years full time figuring out how to do it. This is why the competition has so little caffeine. They couldn’t figure out how to do it and still have a tasty product.

My last question is a rather complex one, so here goes. Why should people try your product?

Gosh! I could write a five page essay on this one, but will save you from that. Caffeine is the most widely studied over the counter drug in the world. It has many proven beneficial purposes from helping with memory, short term recall, improving concentration, and coordination - I type better while caffeinated. Energy drinks and coffee are not as convenient as a Foosh Energy Mint or Buzz Bite Chocolate Energy Chew. Coffee stains your teeth, leaves bad breath, expensive, and has to be kept hot. Energy drinks have to be kept cool and are loaded with sugar. My products are ready when you are, no spilling and no chilling! In fact you get the caffeine "buzz" a lot quicker with my products through sublingual infusion as one absorbs caffeine (any drug) quicker through your cheek wall lining than if you swallow something which gets absorbed in intestines and your stomach. On a per serving basis the products are a fraction of the cost of the alternatives.

Conclusion

I will admit that I did have some help with this review. I have a friend who doubted whether or not a single mint would be able to contain so much caffeine. The Foosh Energy Mints and Buzz Bite products from Vroom won't be for every one. Each product contains 100 milligrams of caffeine, which a few people will consider too extreme. For the people that enjoy a quick and powerful buzz, I would recommend that they order a tin of mints or chocolate bites.

TechIMO assumes no liability for the use of these or any other caffeine products. We strongly caution against caffeine overdose. Caffeine can be a dangerous substance when improperly used or abused.

I'm weird

One Foosh Energy Mint or Buzz Bite has as much caffeine as 2.702 cans of Mountain Dew. ;)

Nice Find.. But is this energy mints worth it? There is a substance in it called taurine. Now some study has pointed out that taurine can lead to mental diseases at an older age, ie Alsimers disease. A few should'nt hurt but dont get depended on it. Taurine is a substance that elimanate a chemical in the brain that makes the body feel sleepy but need for health conditions like rebuliding the brain and refreshing it, it also sucks that dry and enough of it can make the brain to not make any more. < this lead to those diseases like Alsimers, and Parkensins. ( pardon my spelling) I wrote this so you guys wont take too much. It seems like a good product to get on a sleepy day but dont go eating them like skittles :)

erhan28: TechIMO would highly recommend that people don't drink energy drinks like water, and don't eat the buzz bites like skittles.

Here is a little background information about taurine: http://my.webmd.com/content/pages/9/1685_53129.htm

Single dad (17year old son), into computers for 4 1/2 years

I recieved my order of VROOM mints, 2 tins, 24 mints, also they sent me one sample chocolate (still untried at this time)

I'm a caffine fiend, my coffee is so strong the spoon stands up in the middle of the cup.

Monday morning I wake up and have a mint instead of my "so strong it has to be illegal" coffee. Mild withdrawal 2:45am, temped to make coffee. reach work at 3:45am have a mint, all is well. 10am (lunchtime) "power ade" and a mint. No more mints the rest of the day, no caffine withdrawal. Tuesday about the same 3 mints no symptons.

Mints taste like regular mints or certs. Once sucked past the halfway mark it feels like hundreds of tiny balls stuck together and slightly bitter but the mint taste has already conditioned your mouth.

I then push some on some co-workers hoping they get addicted and I can sell them some at triple the cost!

just kidding (aliens) cheaper than coffee and sugar, won't burn your lap if you stop suddenly in traffic. I recommend this product ****

this may get me off of caffine......
