Update: In just four days we have met our donation goal, which is simply amazing! Once processed and submitted, we will be requesting a letter of donation verification from the Red Cross. A scan of the letter will be available at ResellerRatings when made available to us by the Red Cross.

We appreciate everyone's effort is helping to provide aid and relief. You have helped to make a positive difference in many lives, ands we encourage all people to continue much needed donations to the Red Cross and other charities responding to the needs of those affected by this terrible disaster.

Hurricane Katrina will likely go down as the worst natural disaster in U.S. history. 1,000,000 people are without homes, and thousands of people lost their lives. The most immediate concern is to help those victims who remain in devastated areas to be evacuated and to receive food, water, and shelter. To those who have already donated to support this cause, you are to be commended, but the amount of help that this effort will require is enormous and everyone will need to pull together and give again and again.

People as far as 150 miles north of the coast must boil their drinking water. Massive and costly amounts of something as simple as water will need to be provided to countless victims of this disaster, not to mention the costs of food, water, and shelter for the homeless.

Now, to do our part, ResellerRatings is offering to match your donations to the Red Cross from today, Sunday September 4th, through Thursday September 15th, dollar for dollar, up to a total contribution of $10,000. We aim to raise a total of $20,000 for the Red Cross (your donations plus our matched donation).

For those that haven't yet made a contribution to this very important cause, now is your chance to double your impact. For those that have already given, please, give again. The hurricane survivors need your support - let's let them know that they have not been forgotten and that the people of this country will see to it that they are fully cared for. ResellerRatings has hopefully saved you a lot of money and frustration over the years - please give back a little of that savings to those in need.

To confirm to you that we uphold our end of the bargain, we will request a letter from the Red Cross as verification of our contribution and we will publish a scan of that letter here.

Thank you!

P.S. - This program is intended to encourage honest giving. Please, give honestly and participate ethically. Attempts to submit falsified documentation of a donation that was not actually made will be reported to the attorney general in your state.

Scott or Socalgal, I have a slight problem. I made a contribution this morning and was planning on taking advantage of this match, however I never received a confirmation from the Red Cross. Are these usually delayed that long? I did print off a copy of my confirmation. would that be of any help?

Thanks, Rick

I figured it out. Basically, my stupidity. I used my old Hotmail account because I thought it might need to be the same one I registered with TechImo and RR with, but forgot that I had set my mail filter to only receive from my contacts, so my confirmation was filtered out, never to be seen again. Sent a request for a duplicate, but somehow doubt it will be sent, since they appear to be severely overloaded at the moment. Oh well, I had good intentions, just poor follow through. Hopefully, they will acheive their $10K goal without me. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I made a donation and received the e mail confirmation in about 30 secs. I wish all online transactions were as swift.

I hate being pushed around and love discussing issues.

Listen Scott, I think you're a nice guy but i think you're overdramatizing a bit. The worst natural disaster in US history was a hurricane that hit Galvastan, Texas 105 years ago. And i don't think the US is not doing enough to help these homeless people you're talking about

This is really generous man, good on you.

Katrina is not only a humanitarian disaster but now half the world thinks all Americans are racist because the president is refusing to do anything to help those people, can it truly get any worse?
