Are you planning to put XP on in addition to 98? If so there are some extra steps you should take before installing 98. That would be using a 98 boot disk and running fdisk, then creating a fat32 primary partition that does not use up the entire drive. You can then install 98. After that you can put the XP cd in and it will eventually come to a screen asking where to install to. You move to the unpartioned space, and hit c. This will make an unformatted partition (of a size of your choosing). You can then tell XP to install to that (i'd recommend using quick NTFS or FAT32). XP will then set up a menu during computer startup which allows you to choose which OS you want. I'm sure that seems pretty complicated to you but I can provide more descriptive instructions if you really want to do that. It is kinda nice if you ever need 98 to run something. |
