If they are in formats that are not compliant with most DVD players like MPEG4 (DivX and XviD), quicktime, or wma chances are it wont play those file and most of the software I use to burn DVDs wont even let me put a video file onto a video DVD unless its in the right format of MPEG2 or can be converted to it before it burns the DVD.
