I've done what your talking about and the quality was ok. When I tested Roxio's software I let it convert various videos I've received in email and the like. Quality on most was ok, but a few were too low of a resolution to begin with and weren't really watchable after converting. You'll just have to test it out and see if you can live with the quality.
