I use both, VIA HM and MBM and neither of them have any problems running on XP. VIA HM is more convenient to use since you don't have sync it with the BIOS. As for MBM4, I need to use the "compensations" option in MBM to sync to the BIOS reading on some VIA chipset mainboards...
