I don't think it's heat, I've got a few more fans than normal.

And I play UT2k4 for absurd amounts of time with no problems. But I tried out the heat theory on what led me to this in the first place...a scan by AVG. Again, I'm pretty sure it's not heat, but I noticed something interesting: it always gets stuck on the same file.

It used to get stuck on something else, but I deleted that file (it was for a game, I think), so I didn't notice it right off. But now it always stops on "quartz.dll" in the "RegisteredPackages" folder of Windows. Does that have any implications?

Would "trouble files" also explain why it freezes on a defrag, or when I leave the OS locked for an extended time, or why other programs also freeze up after time (for example, my utilities program).
