I have received several thousand dollars through PayPal. This has been mainly from traders forums like the one here. Much of that money went right back into buying things from other traders.

The amount of money "earned" really depends on selling items. Unless you find things to sell that "fell off the back of a truck," you need to buy stuff somewhere. Here's some (obvious) advice to make money: Buy low, sell high.
