While any service pack i have seen people will experience tons of problems, a lot are related to specific driver or application problems when not supported with that update or for some reason the update had change and now application or driver functionality is broken. Of coarse there are many occaisons where things like modules or something in the service pack is awry, like windows xp's vpn issue, thankfully there is a patch, only issued if needed tho.
I haven't really expirienced issues either with service pack 2 for xp that I haven't been able to either find a patch or update, even have the vpn patch.
I usually keep things up to date anyhow.
Usually people who know what they are doing usually dont have many problems, other times they are jsut unavoidable.. So still with service pack 2 on the right path and most things will be smoothed out eventually, for security its a good idea to install, if there are problems, just uninstall it.
