ok, ive been all through these forums, on this missing NTLDR topic.. one thing i dont understand is... why does it happen.. im working on different systems, and when i take a main HDD that is formatted with XP, that I KNOW works on that particular system, and try to run it in another system, why does it get the msing ntldr message? placing it back in the original system, it boots fine. at my old school, we had systems that had removable HDD units, becuase you wouldnt neccessarily sit at the same system each day. we never had any problems, when booting at a different spot.. and all of the pcs in the classroom werent always the same motherboard system. of course, those were win98 formatted, at first, and then 2000 and XP were added, to multiboot..
so, why, when im working on different motherboard systems, when i take a XP only formatted hdd, and try to boot on any of them, other than the original, do i get the ntldr missing message?
