Problems with new graphics card and onboard card

Alright.. I installed the Nvidia card, installed the drivers for it and it is recognized by Windows 98. I plugged the monitor into the new display port on the back of the PC and a message said at a command prompt, "If you can see this then the installation of your new card was successful. Go to the display settings and adjust...", and so I did.

Problem was when I went to the display settings after rehooking my monitor to the onboard card, it didn't seem to want me to set the default card as the Nvidia. Every time I would change a resolution setting or bitrate, it'd go right back to the default.

At this point I was pulling my hair out. I decided to haul over to the BIOS and uninstall the onboard and see where that got me...exactly nowhere. In fact, not only do I still not get a display other than that command prompt message from the Nvidia, I get no display whatsoever from the onboard (of course).

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.
