PC wont start

I just assembled my first computer and to say the least it wont power up. I am almost positive I put it together flawless, but when I hit the power button nothing happens. The only thing I could think of was that the x blade case comes with a 24 pin psu connecter and the motherboard has a 24 pin receiver, but I have been told that should not matter. I wondering maybe if it is a bad psu or something? If anyone has any suggestions on how to get my comp started up please offer your knowledge. Oh and I didnt blow anything out because I was careful with the anti static stuff. Thanks.
