Well one of the computers needs to be connected to the router via an ethernet cable.

No it shouldn't matter if the computer is old. As long as the PCI adapter is compatible with it, then it should be good to go.

Yes, that's the router.

This is the PCI adapter. I couldn't find it card on newegg either, but I got mine from Fry's.
