AMD 1.5ghz, thought it was 2.2???

i have a question. i bought a new motherboard and a processor, and was told that the processor was a 2.2 ghz, from the store. i run a system analysis and it shows as 1.5. the processor was listed as 2200+.. what does that mean? can i increase the speed of it somehow?
