in the absense of any of the filters mentioned above, i decided to tape some 'bounty paper towel' over the back of my 120mm fan which is sucking air in and blowing onto the CPU fan.
Here are the results after 1hour of heavy game play. -
Fan 1 is CPU fan (Gigabyte rocket cooler)
Fan 2 is my noisy Abit northbridge fan
Fan 3 - not really sure, think its my graphics card fan thats plugged into the m/board.
Didnt make much temp difference, my system runs pretty hot anyway.
