Well i'm not sure what you have tried so far, but what sort of dvi cable do you have?
DVI-A, DVI-D, or DVI-I?
I would assume your monitor takes a DVD-D cable, is this one that came with the monitor?
Possibly you could try booting your computer with it only in the DVI?
I would assume as long as you dont have a forced refresh rate and the latest nvidia forceware drives you should be good. I never had an issue hooking up an lcd monitor and having to turn on a DVI feature. Just have to enable the DVI port.
