Ok so I slipstreamed SP2 into XP Pro.. it DID finally give me an upgrade option, so I went and gave it a try.

It royally screwed up my computer.

followed the directions to the T... and after it "looked" to be done and it went for the final reboot, during the Windows XP screen, I seen..... the dreaded.... blue screen of death!

After which it would restart on its own and BSOD at the same spot in a continuous loop.

SO, I lost my files.. I got most them saved from backups. but some of the resent stuff went byebye. (my bad for not backing them up sooner heh)

I have a feeling that it was my norton that jacked me. No clue what else it could have been.
