Just another option to consider.  | Yes that should work fine, but I was trying avoid doing that, simply becasue the USB devices use some power to drive them (although only a small amount).

does work fine, but the cable is a bit short and you probably have to use one of the PCI slots. I don't think the cable will reach over 2 PCI cards to fit into the PCI-E slot.
