Another Dynamic Disk problem

I have a WD 160GB ATA slave disk that was formatted (newbie) as a “Dynamic” disk on a system running Windows XP Pro. The computer could read the drive OK but later died and the HD was installed in a new computer running Windows Home, SP2 and now can not read it. Disk Manager can see it but doesn’t give the “Import” option. I have tried, and my local PC shop has tried this HD in other systems running different versions of Windows but nothing can read the data on the drive. All versions want to convert it to a Basic drive by reformatting it, thus losing my data. I’ve scanned all the other threads related to Dynamic disk but found nothing that has helped so far.
