I don't know anything about fuel oil, but do the tanks sit outside? If so, I would imagine that black wouldn't be a good choice. We have a ton of propane users around here and I always wondered what would happen if the "pig" was painted black in the middle of summer. Black = Heat = Pressure = Bang. Would be a good one for mythbusters
