In Pakistan, 19,136 people were confirmed killed by yesterday's magnitude 7.6 earthquake, 11,000 of them in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir alone, Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao told reporters today. There were more than 40 aftershocks of magnitude 4.5 or higher, the last of which, recorded around 2 p.m. local time today, was a little above magnitude 6, which is quite dangerous and might have caused some damage, Chaudhary said.
