Elder Scroll uses the same engine as 3dmark01 which is very CPU and Ram dependent. I'm not saying u can have good cpu and good amount of ram and a crappy video card. Just saying that the game is better off playing with more memory than better video card.
And 1GB is more than enough for most games including this one. Only games that requires more than 1GB is BF2.
