Can anyone help?
I upgraded my pc and took the hard drive out of my old pc and put it in an external usb case, it worked fine in my old pc when connected by IDE.
All my usb drivers are up to date and it is recognised in device manager saying it is working properly.
It isn't showing on my computer or in disk manager, i have checked every available drive letter in ms dos and nothing shows.
it wasnt the boot disk in my old pc and another hard drive works fine in the case. It was labled drive C which is the only hard drive I have in my new pc.
I am stuck I dont know what else I can do, I dont mind formatting the drive, but how do I do it when the only thing that recognises it is device manager and that tells me it is working properly.
It has its own power supply and I have tried unplugging all the other usb devices incase it was a bandwith problem.......
I have no ideas left and have checked all kinds of forums but as yet havent found an answer.... I even put it back in the old computer and it worked again there......
Please someone help
it really annoys me when something simple becomes a nightmare!
