Now i have the stangest thing. I was reading this post and a lot of them have the same problems. Now i have a NC4010 that's the one with no optical drive. My CN4010 was also HD protected, so i wanted to boot my NC4010 with a external usb 2.0 drive ... and that was succesfull. I formated the 60 GB drive and i wanted to install XP. I deleted all the partitions an created two new ones.
The setup was running fast by copying the files to the HD, but at 20% het told that he cold not copy some files, ?? Very strange, because the disc i used was okay!
So i wanted to look in the bios for the setup, but it asked me for a admin pass... what i dont have. This is the last time that i bought a computer from the internet... so i screwed the NC4010 open and search for the CMOS battery. I found it and took it for an hour. replace the whole thing and build it again. that seems not too help. Now i have a empty HD that i cant install and a bios that i cant acces. Can someone help me please because i bought this thing for my girlfriend as a present.
