And this isn't geared toward a beginning build list...
This is more for someone upgrading after the fact...
Lots of people build with an SLI board and one video card, and then when the cards come down a year later, upgrade to 2...
And at that point their 400-watter which was more than enough originally, is a bit stressed, so instead of chucking a perfectly good stable PSU just because of an upgrade, you can get a dedicated power source which also gives your PSU some headroom for other upgrades or overclocking...
Once there is a little competition and they come down, this will be a VERY effective way to upgrade...
