customizing M$ Windows Installer

I have created an application in VB and i read up in a book how to go about deploying it via and installer. I went through the tutorial about how to set it up to include the file and all. When i run the Setup.exe file for the Installer its a very basic template, i found out how to select the directory i want it to defaulty install in, i also figured out how to set the version, etc.

What i want to do is be able to somehow alter that template so that i can add maybe my own picture/logo at the top corner & other options i would like to allow it to do. Right now the instaler doesnt create a start menu icon, but how would i be able to make it do that? Really i just want to be able to customize the installer more to my liking, and since it wasnt that hard to set it up, since Visual Studio.NET uses Microsofts Windows Installer to deploy its applicaions im not sure how editable it is.

Any clues?
