Could be power issue. We have had power supply issues that have caused this, I am not sure if the 6000 has the PS on the MoBo or if you can replace it separately. Try what HP has had me do in the past...unplug the AC power, pull the battery, hold down the power button (I am sure someone said to do this but did not explain it well) for 30 seconds...what this does is resets the system internally. Not for sure if it is clearing the RAM and the CPU cache or if it is just a MoBo reset, but it has worked for me before on earlier HP / Compaqs - A Bad AC adapter could give you problems as well as not charge your battery properly; if you know someone who has a compatable AC adapter you could try that...My first instinct is a power issue of some sort.
