I will try swapping as soon as my friend is able to do so.

My video card is a connect3d x1900xt 512 mb card that does use a molex connector connected to psu.

which has held up for a long time.

Hope this helps a bit. also when i bump my computer with my knee sometimes it would freeze up. Dont know if that would help any.
