I can't speak about the Samsung but I have the 22" Sceptre. It performs great in Half Life 2 and several racing sims. I upgraded from a 17" CRT so I'm still in awe over its size.

Cons: The DVI cable that comes with it is cheap. I just replaced it with a DVI to HDMI cable & it made a nice improvement. Also it has some backlight bleed but isn't noticeable anywhere except a full black screen.

Edit: Been away for a while - eyes are giving me problems. Anywho...
The HDMI & DVI ports died on my Sceptre. Seems to be a common problem. The RMA was painless though & turn-around was quick. I never got a chance to try the repaired unit - it was stolen in a burglary while still in the box.

I now have a Samsung 245BW & I'm very impressed with its display. It's bright, clear and the text is much better than the Sceptre 22".
