If you have removed the screw on the back of the case (besides the one that allows you to open the HD tray), there shouldn't be any problem. Mine did require a quite strong pull the first time. When I put a HD without a tab, I needed to remove it with pliers, but the plastic silver tab sufficed for the original one.
