I think it is jammed somehow.. haven't the faintest of ideas..

Edit: I managed to release the hard drive with the use of a pair of pliers . The only thing now is, I need to get the hard drive out of the holder/case (metal casing) but there are 2 pins holding the hard drive in place. I'm not sure as to how to remove the pins.. The service manual calls them "M2.0 x 10.0 alignment pins". It says I need a 4.0mm socket, but I don't know what that is.. Anybody know what to do? Thanks in advance.

Pins? Do you mean screws? Mine had 4 screws on the sides, of different sizes. I needed a really small screwdriver for the rear ones and a slightly larger one for the front ones. Then I had to carefully remove the 80-pin (I suppose there are 80 of them) connector from the back by pulling it while trying not to bend too much the casing. I used some strength at this point but after the first time you get used to the amount needed. The metal casing has a black plastic connector for the HD pins and two metal pins which stick to the laptop bay, but I never really touched those, nor did I need to remove the metallized plastic around the drive, which has the silver tab.
Hope that helps...
