Should I install Ubuntu?

Ok peoples, here's the deal:

Right now I have a 400GB HDD that is partitioned as follows:

75GB Vista Ultimate
75GB XP Home
250GB Files

I've only used about 100GB for my files, so I'm thinking about creating another partition (50GB or so for Ubuntu - I really want to try Beryl).

Can I do this? Right now, I'm dual-booting Vista and XP without issue, and am curious whether or not this will work. Will it show up as a third option in the boot menu? Or do I need a separate physical drive? Also, what are the chances that I mess something up with Windows?

Thanks for the help.
