Ya, but they have different features, I've read that people don't like the new ones as well as the old ones because the removable grill doesn't get as hot, others hate the old ones because they are hard to clean..
It's a crap shoot. I'm making my mom buy it for a belated birthday present, since I was out there last Monday. 
I am going to hit Target tomorrow, I thought I'd do it today after I put the Air Conditioner in the window but dang it weighs more than it did last year and I'm whipped after my 3 hour project. Plus I put it in the 2nd story and was up and down and up and down the stairs...
