Intel Core 2 E6850 vs Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

I am planning to get an ibuypower PC and in the setup they have both
the Intel Duel Core E6850 (3.0 Ghz) and the Quad Core Q660 (2.4 Ghz)
for the same price.

I looked up on toms hardware under charts in the various benchmarks for games / software and found overall the quad core performs a bit better ..not by much at times but enough to make a slight diffrence. in normal games/applications BUT in applications that utlize mutple CPUs the performace gain can be much more... example is with 3DMax 9 gives around a 48% percent increase

it seems to me that its a no brainer to get the quad core for windows vista but any one else have any thoughts about this?

there both the same price but i was just seeing if there was any reason to stick with the duel core. :-)

i want to get the most bang for the buck!

also can most of you confirm that both processors are faster than the AMD 64 X2 6600+ (3.0 Ghz) i am told and judging from the benchmarks at toms site too that is the case :-)

thanks so much!
