The kids a "Cracker" not a Hacker. A Hacker builds things and shares his knowledge with others. A Hacker knows several programming languages. A hacker is a good thing.

A Cracker breaks things. He uses his knowledge to create kaos and shares nothing but a headache.

This kid approached the situation all wrong. What he should have done was to contact the companies in question and got them to hire him to test their security or at least he could have bet them he could get into their system and made a pretty penny doing so.

He was and probably still is very single minded. He doesn't know how to think ahead of his actions. He was a kid playing with a loaded gun and knowing full well how to use one.

There are certain situations with a car where you can loose your licence for life. He should loose the use of a computer for life.
