I have all of the above problems with a NC6000 that I am fixing. I over came the BIOS/CMOS problem with the method described, undoing the keyboard, removing the lead to rhe CMOS (Black and red wires) for 10 minutes.

I also have the boot issue and hanging. For now the pressing down works but its not really a long term solution.

FOr the hanging, I removed the battery and run on AC with the RMclock & FAN6000 running, I also disabled the USB (which didnt help) BUT I now have a USB memory stick inserted in the top USB slot and it seems to have done the trick, I've run the system for two days including reboots and it doesn't hang.... not sure how to explain it.
