ahhh, there's more to a mouse pad than just being metal, a lot has to do with the surface of the pads as well. if I were just using a Ball mouse or plain optical, that'd be fine, but I'm using 2 higher end gaming mice with really high dpi. plus I'd want one that lets the mouse slide nice & smooth over the pad as well.
