Maxtor External Hard Drive failure?

Hey guys,

I have a "Maxtor Personal Storage 3100" according to what I've seen on the internet. It's an older 200GB Maxtor external hard drive that I've used for a long time now as my external drive. Unfortunately, I had a shelf collapse on me today and it dropped a foot or so onto another shelf on its side. I noticed a high-pitched whine coming from it, so I cut the power. Unfortunately, it now no longer works. When I plug in the power, it makes a minor arpeggio which repeats with increasing volume a couple times. Plugging in the USB connector yields the same result, and it's not showing up, and the drive itself is not turning on.

This is an absolute catastrophe. I have years and years of saved music and pictures on that drive. The kind of stuff that I would NEVER be able to get back nor replace. It would be an absolute tragedy to lose the amount of stuff I have on that drive. It is so essential, I am sure I would be willing to do anything to get it back.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
