I overclocked mine with my Asus board, apprantly the board is designed for extreme overclocking, but I intentially didn't exceed more than about 2.7 GHz.
It's running at it's normal performace of 2.4 now, there really isnt any need for it. Furthermore, when you overclock that chip, you are going to get some crazy idle temperatures, it scares me to think what the temperatures would be when the actual chip is being used fully. I also invested in a Zalman colling fan, still doesn't help...
