Highlights From the Keynote ...

.76 at the hinge to .16 at the front. "The Worlds thinnest Laptop."

No compromise on the monitor and includes the standard 13.3" wide screen LCD display with a LED back light. ISight Camera Built in.

Full sized Keyboard with LED, i think, back lighting.

"Mini Gestures," adaptation of the motions from the Iphone into the laptop mouse pad. Zoom functions (in and out), rotation of images in a window, panning around a screen, etc.

80GB HD standard, 1.8" Ipod Drive or optional 64GB SSD drive (pricey as hell)

1.6Ghz C2D Standard or optional 1.8 Ghz. Re-engineered C2D to be 60% smaller specifically for the Air. (Wow, they have the CEO of Intel speaking.
Size of a Dime, thinkness of a nickel, 400 million transistors)

MagSafe Connector, 45watt AC adapter.

Flip down panel to reveal a side port with a USB2, MICRO-DVI and a Headphone jack.

802.11N and Blue tooth 2.1 + EDR

No optical but they have an optional SuperDrive for 100 bucks which is powered entirely from USB2. Thats Slick.

No need for optical with the use of Ipod, Itunes Movie Rentals, or Back ups (Time Machine/Time Capsule ... who backs up anyways!?) and the new functionality of "Remote Disc" on the OS. All Macs or PC's with software from Air to "borrow" their optical drive and use it remotely, notice is sent to the server source of the optical to borrow before its being used.

5 Hour battery life with full features being used.

3lbs total weight!

2 Gigs of RAM

1799 ... I'm kinda sold.

Eviromental Stuff: Aluminum case is fully recyclable. Mercury Free display, Arsenic-Free Glass. BFR-Free and PVC-Free Circuit board. 50% smaller packaging than the smallest macbook packaging.

Prepurchase for the Air started on Tuesday and will not be shipping for 2 weeks.

As a business Traveler who is on flights for several hours, i really like the idea of the battery life and the size. Nothing is worse than carrying around a 5-6lb laptop and then the 1lb adapter and several other things like a mini mouse. I especially hate dealing with the mini keyboards. Now i have never been a big Mac fan but since i know i can run parallels, its not so bad since i need XP for work.

The Price tag seems so high compared to the rest of the Ultra Mobile laptops out there but when you consider how much more equipment your getting in the deal ... I think its worth it. I would like to know more about their warranty since its so small and im guessing its easily dropped/broken.
