WIN 98 Safe Mode Help

Hello;
I am attempting to reload my old win98 2e OS due to a ongoing boot problem that has been occuring for some time now. Currently my pc will only start up in safe mode which there are various options such as -Safe Mode, Safe Mode w/Network Support, and a few others.....

Here's my problem. I have another PC on my home LAN which i would like to back up my data files to before wiping out my hard drive with the reinstall of the 98 OS. However, in Safe Mode my win 98 pc has no network connectivity so i can not access the hard drive (which i have previously been able to do under normal operations). I'm sure i need to load certain drivers, etc or kind of manually start the network devices in the safe mode in order to make the connection.....I'm just not sure how to go about this.

Thanks for your help.
