I'm sorry to hear that my instructions did not resolve your issue.

First of all, what Norton product and what version do you have installed?

Have you run Windows Update to make sure that you have all of the Microsoft security patches applied? If not, please do run it until it tells you that all updates have been applied.

Also, do you have any other 3rd party antivirus applications installed? Please check Add/Remove Programs and if there are any, please remove them, as they can cause conflicts.

Lastly, the symptoms you describe, do possibly point to some type of infection on your system, but I can't say for sure.

As soon as I hear back from you regarding your specific product, I will be better able to assist you.
