Do you truly not know that being an "uppity nigger" was, in the not so distant past, treated as an offense so heinous that people were beaten, terrorized, and even killed for it? Homes would be burned, family members beaten and tortured, and people would sometimes be lynched for the crime of being "uppity". I am not making this up, and this has nothing to to with some frivolous attempt at being "PC"; this has to do with having some knowledge of history and the power of language.
