From my limited experience of playing Halo 3:
The graphics are vastly improved (as they should be) from Halo 2.
The controller layout is slightly different from Halo 2.
The addition of different "power ups", such as a personal shield, is interesting, but the shield is rather useless, at least IMO.
Halo is good for one thing: multiplayer, which it does rather well.
