Nice article, SJ.
Beemer correct me if I'm wrong below:
In the 80's Canada scrapped the "melting pot" idea for a cultural mosaic of multi-culturalism. They scrapped the Constitution, which was much more similar to ours, and replaced it with a "living" Constitution called the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms at the insistence of Pierre Trudeau, then Prime Minister and student of Marxism. The Charter not only ensures the rights of the minorities (as the US does), it enables the minority to over-rule the rights of the majority(I may be wrong here). The Charter does not guarantee property rights either, nor the right to bear arms.
This is what Leftists and Neo-Cons want to do by creating a living constitution as well. They want to over-ride the absolutism of the current US Constitution (which was the reason it was designed that way), and replace with one that allows for relativity (which the Constitution was designed to prevent).
It's blatantly obvious with selective politics, in your face and frustrating that no-one really gives a sh*t. The Oath of office is a joke.
