Dave is right, I went to the WD site once and typed in the Serial Number for my drive and the web site told me if it was still in warranty or not. Maxtor may have something simular. Give it a shot, you might get lucky.

EDIT: I did remember correctly, Maxtor did aquire Quantum didn't they?
