Monitor's native resolution not avaible in XP (1440x900)

I just got a Samsung LN-S1952W, but I can only select 800x600 or 1024x768. The computer is a Dell E1405 with a Intel 945GM Express graphics chipset. I've used both the drivers on Dells site, and those on Intel's site. I've tried through Display Properties->Settings; Intel's software and Powerstrip. I'm going to try again with powerstrip double checking that I have all the refresh rates set as per spec, but since the TV/Monitor isn't sending EDID info nothing is giving me it as a choice.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: The manual says 1440x900 H-Freq=70.635 V-Freq=74.984 Piel Clock=136.75 Polarity -/+. However no new resolutions are available after inputting into Powerstrip->Display Profiles->Configure->Advanced Timing Options->Custom Resolutions

Edit: I've also just used PS to write a custom monitor driver but can't manage to install it. When going Device Manager->Monitors->Default Plug and Play->Update Driver and specifying the location it just doesn't do it. Is the a place to copy the monitor's .inf driver file thing?
