thanks for the info, inbetween you two I can confirm my suspicions that my psu is not the issue, I was hoping so considering they price much higher than motherboards (if it came down to that drastic decision).

Also, I updated my bios, it was not hard and I even rechecked using msinfo32 in the run menu and it had the updated date of the file. I'll give my card a whirl, hopefully all will work if not then my motherboard is more than likely the problem
