Ok, so heres the deal. My friend actually did not have a 1000 W psu he lied. He is a bastard. We laughed about it when he arrived. We plugged it in and to our dismay, the card did not function. Over further inspection, my friend took a good look at the box of the 3870x2 and noticed a sentence I had overlooked. The card recommends an AMD chipset of at least 770 or greater to operate. I unfortunately did not realize this, or share it with you guys but my mobo has a 590 AMD chipset, which is probably a good explanation for why nothing seems to be working. It's of course my fault, the lack of information led you guys to believe in other problems that may be occuring and naturally my thought process was the same way. I am interested in purchasing a new board and was wondering if you guys could help me find a new one according to these qualifications.
I'm looking for a motherboard, for a decent (100$ min-200$ max) price that uses an AM2 socket, DDR2 800 RAM, has crossfire capabilities (with pci x16 slots).
Thats about it, I suppose I should have shared that information with you guys, I feel pretty stupid, my friend discovered it and we both looked at eachother in complete stupidity (mainly my stupidity, well actually all my stupidity.)
Once again, you guys really helped and any more help would be appreciated
